Meet Our Board: Missy Nyeholt

I am a transplant to Beaver Falls from Denver, Colorado but have called Beaver Falls home for eleven years now. I love Beaver Falls because of the way the community comes together so often to care for this place. In my role at Geneva College as the coordinator for Community Engagement in the Center for Student Engagement, I have the opportunity and privilege to work alongside so many incredible people and organizations in our city who care deeply for its people, its stories, and its beauty. Because of this work, I not only get to know so many incredible residents of Beaver Falls who are working tirelessly for its revitalization, but I also get to introduce Geneva students to the different opportunities they can learn from, listen to, and serve in their new community. It is inspiring work because the community has so much to offer!

My family and I live downtown Beaver Falls and we love our neighborhood, we love the bike trail and walking to Oram's, we love sending our kids to Central Elementary and getting to know families and teachers there, and we love our church family, SOMA. We are grateful to be able to raise our kids in this community! Our hope for the future of this community is that people would find opportunities to connect with one another in meaningful ways so that we can understand one another better. There is much work to be done here but there is much hope as we take small steps forward. I believe that the Beaver Falls Community Development Corporation has the opportunity to support the work of community leaders to continue taking these steps forward!
